Today’s guest is Meika Hollander, the co-founder and president of Sustain, a company committed to always putting women’s health first. Following this mission, Sustain offers the first brand of natural sexual wellness essentials that protect women’s bodies, our partners’ bodies, and the planet. In addition to being an inspiring entrepreneur, Meika is also an activist, having dedicated herself to advocating for safe sex, comprehensive sex education, and ingredient transparency. She has also penned her first book, Get on Top, which is an actionable guide to take control of your reproductive and sexual health.

Meika offers so many valuable insights into the importance of choosing products which are safe to put on and in our bodies, the entrepreneurial world, and so much more. Here are a few of my top takeaways:

  • Creating a business to affect positive change in the world can lead one to use capitalism to fuel activism and change — a powerful and meaningful combination.
  • Many products marketed for use by women don’t belong in a woman’s body, so make sure to look for ingredients which are natural and sustainable.
  • Becoming an entrepreneur is an intense, all-consuming journey, one which will require many personal sacrifices, so remember that taking time to recharge is an incredibly important part of self-care.
  • Healthy living is about balance and trying to be mindful of the choices one makes.
