In this podcast episode. I’m chatting with the fabulous Molly Carmel, who is the founder of The Beacon Program, a program designed to help clients create and nurture a whole new (and healthy) relationship with food. Molly is also author of the groundbreaking book, Breaking Up with Sugar: A Plan to Divorce the Diets, Drop the Pounds, and Live Your Best Life.

As you’ll learn from the podcast, Molly speaks from experience. Since overcoming a battle with an eating disorder, she has dedicated her career to helping people break free of their destructive relationship with food and dieting by overcoming compulsive overeating, repetitive dieting, and sugar addiction.

There are so many wonderful takeaways from my conversation with Molly, but here are some of my favorites:

  • The solution to many of our food and weight problems isn't willpower or the next fad diet; it's breaking up with sugar;
  • Healing and moving on from destructive dieting is an act of self-forgiveness;
  • When using social media, do it mindfully and remember the following: comparing your insides with someone else’s outsides is not an act of self-love;
  • Healthy living means living in alignment with your core values and having integrity with yourself and your food.
